Instructions:
Step 1:
Form a team (1 or more people).Step 2:
Start at any checkpoint. At each checkpoint, take a timestamped selfie with your bike and the checkpoint in the photo. Complete a loop of all 4 checkpoints, returning to your starting point.
⚠️ You should have 5 photos by the end, not 4.Step 3:
Submit your 5 photos and share your Strava ride in the CyclingGeng group. Your total time is the difference between your first and last photo at the same checkpoint.
North Checkpoint: Lorong Halus Red Bridge (click photos for Google Maps locations)
West Checkpoint: Bishan Ang Mo Kio Park Bridge 1
South Checkpoint: Floating Apple Store, MBS
East Checkpoint: NSRCC Signboard, on the way to ECP
Happy riding, and good luck!
Rules
Complete the loop sequentially, so that you complete a round island attempt. eg. don't go from the north to the south, then the west then east.1. Safety first. In the spirit of racing, do not endanger your own welfare. Adhere to the LTA's active mobility act (tldr: use your common sense, give way to cars)
2. Stay properly hydrated.
3. Always wear a helmet while riding, and have front and rear lights if riding in the dark (from 1900H to 0700H)
4. Very minor deviations from the given Strava route are allowed, but do not short-course (eg. skip TMCR entirely). If there are issues with the route (eg. road closure, construction, etc.), feel free to find a way around, but get back on the given route as soon as you can. Take photos of the disruptions too, to help us validate them.
5. Have fun!

We are
CyclingGeng.
Is that really your club’s name?Yes! Our official club name is SUTD Cycling Interest Group but we refer to ourselves as SUTD Cycling Geng to express our camaraderie better. Don’t worry, we are not an actual illegal/criminal gang, just a group of friendly people who loves to ride bicycles! What can I expect from joining you?You can expect weekly club rides as our primary activity. You can also expect the frequent sharing of bicycle deals, educational bicycle videos and websites, or just random bicycle talk in our Telegram group! Anything that has to do with bicycles and cycling, we are (almost) guaranteed to have you covered on that! Just do not join our group and make us buy insurance from you…Great, what kind of rides does your club go on?Our club rides cater to a variety of people depending on your riding discipline, fitness level and what you really want to ride. We are currently permitted by the school to go on official club rides on PCNs and on the bicycle lane along Tanah Merah Coast Road (TMCR).For the leisure riders, we will be riding on PCNs along Changi Beach Park and TMCR to East Coast Park, and back, at a very leisure and social speed. These rides are great if you would like to socialise and ride at a very comfortable pace! For the road bikers, we (unofficially) ride around Seletar Airport, TMCR, Mandai, Bukit Timah, etc. (more routes to be considered and added!). These rides are great if you would like to ride to build good fitness and endurance and push yourself to surpass your physical limits and unleash your inner beast! For mountain bikers, we occasionally ride at Mandai’s T15 trail, Bukit Timah trail, and even Ketam at Pulau Ubin. These rides are great if you like riding off-road, technical trails and just shredding on the trails in general! What do I need to join your club?At the bare minimum, we recommend you own a bicycle if you want to ride with us, duhh!If you would like to join our leisure rides, then any bicycle will do, as long as it has brakes! It could be your crazy expensive carbon aero road bike, full suspension downhill mountain bike, the common market bike owned by your father, or even a rental bike (if you can find one)!If you would like to join our road rides, we highly recommend you have a road bike with drop handlebars, or a time trial bike. Otherwise, any bicycle will do, as long as you are fit and strong enough to hold 30kmph on the roads with a market bike! You will also need a helmet and we recommend you to have a set of cycling jersey, padded shorts and clipless shoes to get the full road riding experience. Of course your road bike does not need to be carbon and aerodynamic, after all, it is about the rider, not about the bike, right? 😉If you would like to join our mountain bike rides, you should have a hardtail mountain bike with a suspension fork, or a full suspension mountain bike. Unfortunately, we do not allow any other types of bicycles (with no suspension) to join us on the trails, for your own safety, unless you can prove us that you have the skill level of Sam Pilgrim, who rides a carbon road bike on trails. You also need a helmet too!I want to race. Is your club going to participate in any races?Yes, SUTD Cycling Geng is planning to participate in road races held in Singapore. We are currently in the midst of deciding and planning. We also need a few more road riders who are willing to train with us and get faster to race with us. So if you wish to unleash your inner Peter Sagan, please join us! :DDoes anyone sponsor bicycles for your club?Unfortunately, we do not have generous bicycle sponsors for SUTD Cycling Geng ☹. However, if you are secretly Tadej Pocagar disguised as an SUTD student and manage to win road races for us, then maybe we could get sponsored with a bunch of bling-bling S-Works Tarmac’s!I want to ride with your club. How can I be assured of my safety?SUTD Cycling Geng takes safety with utmost importance. We are currently reviewing safety measures and coming up with an official safety protocol that we will follow strictly when out on rides. Also, the school has sponsored us with a few first aid kits and action cameras (for recording evidence should any accident touch wood happen). What is the commitment level of your club?It depends on what you are looking for when you join our club! You could be the random dude that joins our leisure ride once in a blue moon. You could be the Chris Froome that claims that you are doing a recovery ride but always drop us and leave us in the dust on our road rides. You could be dedicated and passionate rider that joins us for every single ride. You could also just be a student that just joins our Telegram group to talk about bicycles with us but never join us on our rides. It really is up to you!Do I need to pay anything to join your club?Of course not! Joining SUTD Cycling Geng is completely free of charge and we welcome all students with open arms 😊.
